Nearly two weeks after the official release of 10.13.2 (the second major update to the macOS High Sierra), Apple seeded out the second beta of the upcoming macOS High Sierra 10.13.3 to registered developers for testing. The update can be downloaded via Apple Developer Center, or through the Software Update mechanism in Mac App Store.
The second developer beta is build 17D25b, with the last build having number 17D20a. By far it is not clear yet what improvements this third major update will brings, but it may include bug fixes and deal with the issues that are not solved in macOS 10.13.2.
The previous macOS High Sierra 10.13.2 update is more concerned about security patches and performance improvements rather than new features. The release notes say macOS10.13.2 offers stability, compatibility, security and feature improvements:
- Improves compatibility with certain third-party USB audio devices.
- Improves VoiceOver navigation when viewing PDF documents in Preview.
- Improves compatibility of Braille displays with Mail.
For Mac users in China, macOS High Sierra 10.13.2 introduces the new Chinese names for many apps and features, which helps improve Chinese users’ experience.
Anyone can also enroll in the developer program and gain access to beta system software (as well as the ability to submit apps to the App Store), but at an annual cost of $99.
We will keep our eyes on macOS updates and report the new features found in the beta.
